Law of the land is a mirror of its civil society. The legal system of a country is dependent and related to the social and constitutional characteristic of the place. Basically three types of legal systems are in existence worldwide either exclusively or in combination with another; civil, common and religious.
Having established itself as one of the most important spheres of governance the judiciary has become a gateway for the common man to be a part of the authority. There are multiple layers and branches of a legal system each addressing a specific field and region. This has opened avenues for a vast amount of law job vacancies.

The opportunities are quite vast and diverse and has potential for enormous growth; be it the federal judiciary or the corporate legal system. To expand its horizon the states have entrusted agencies, counties, townships, cities and special districts with law making powers. This in turn gives the bodies a wider scope of growth in terms of employment.  All the different layers of administration with their varied functions have opened requirements for specialised and diverse fields and manpower for those specific spheres.

Law job vacancies can be categorized according to practice areas as tax, property and real estate, telecom and media, commercial, corporate etc. and job types as in-house, newly qualified and associates, company secretary, paralegal executives etc. There are temporary and permanent contracts as well.

In 2009 the ‘Department of Justice’ was voted as the Best place to work in the Federal Government. The Department hires law students, attorneys for entry level positions and special agents.
